Jennifer Skura Boutell
is an American-born published writer, theatre maker, performer, and teaching artist. She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from Goddard College and received her B.F.A. in theatre from Sam Houston State University. Jennifer has collaborated on stage and screen for over 30 years, plus studied writing, acting, and directing with masters including Rogelio Martinez, Deborah Brevoort, Susan Kim, Nancy Gabor, and Joseph Chaikin. In NY her writing has most recently been presented at Howl Playwrights, Half Moon Theatre, Tangent Arts, NEWvember, Dixon Place, Avalon Studios NYC, Dialogue with Three Chords (D3C), Culture Project's IMPACT Festival, Monk Parrots and Barefoot Theatre Company as well as Cherry Lane, BRIC Arts, and 92Y. In Atlanta, Jennifer's work has been made by Some Bodies Theatre Collective at Synchronicity, MINT, RoleCall, Flicker, and Mixdiety. She is also founder of FADlab, a writing residency at Windmill Arts. Jennifer's plays include THEY KNOW NOT: A BURLESQUE TRAGEDY OF EPIC PROPORTIONS, PIRATE, BOOGER GIRL, A LOOSE CAT, SWEET CITRUS, AMARILLO, JOSEPH AND MRS. M, STARR adapted from Barry Gifford’s “American Falls,", OFF A BRIDGE, Failure to thrive., THIRST, and A MAD WOMAN’S BREAKFAST. Her short screenplays include CITRUS, EVERYTHING ELSE, HIGH PRIVACY, and DISCIPLINE.
